Thank you so much for coming to Parent/Teacher conference day! It was great to see all of you again and share the progress your child is making!
If you were unable to attend I'd love to set up another date and time to meet with you. Contact me @ school (743-3665) or send a note with your child to school. I am available most days from 8-9am and after school.
Thanks again!

Parent/Teacher Conference Day!
Next Tuesday, November 3rd is Parent/Teacher Conference day! I would love to sit down with each of you to discuss your child’s progress. We've completed PALS testing (see http://pals.virginia.edu/ for more info!) and I'm anxious to share how your children are adjusting to kindergarten! Look for a conference time request sheet that went home today. The sooner you get it in, the better your chance is for your first choice in times! I look forward to meeting with you!

Sneeze in Your Sleeve!
We are practicing safe sneezing in kindergarten! We've been extra cautious about sneezing in our sleeve and washing our hands often to keep healthy! Check out this cute, quick video about safe sneezing! http://www.vdh.state.va.us/epidemiology/DiseasePrevention/H1N1/Video/PSAs/Sneezing101.htm
Don't forget that Hopkins is hosting a FREE H1N1 vaccination clinic tomorrow, Tuesday the 20th after school. Stay and enjoy Hopkins Family Health & Fitness night, too! Hope to see you there!

The letter Pp!
We learned about the letter Pp by making pumpkin play-doh, popping popcorn, going to the pumpkin patch and eating pumpkin seeds! We love fall!

We are writers!
Kindergarten authors are learning to use their writing tools: Pencils, Journals, "Space Men", and their Word Wall Words! They're also becoming fantastic illustrators using their crayons and drawing many masterpieces! After writing time, four students share their writing daily. Here, Rois shares his writing and his classmates give him two "I like" statements. We're becoming great at complimenting our friends on their hard work!
